Girl tells teacher of molestation

A girl's report to her teacher has led to felony child molesting charges against a Fort Wayne man.

Allen County prosecutors on Monday formally charged 24-year-old Daniel C. Barlag, aka Daniel Butcher, with two charges of child molesting.

One of those charges, a Class A felony, carries up to 50 years in prison if he is convicted.

The girl's age is not given in court documents.

Those documents, though, say she told a teacher at CANI Head Start that Barlag, whom she knows, molested her.

Barlag, of the 500 block of Lawton Place, is accused of molesting the child sometime between June 2013 and April this year.

In an interview with detectives, he denied inappropriately touching the child.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
