Street victim dies; manner of death pending

A man found last week lying in the middle of a northeast-side street has died, and the manner of his death is pending following an autopsy, the Allen County coroner's office said today.

Conrad S. Symonds, 46, of Fort Wayne was found about 5:45 a.m. July 14 in the street in the 6000 block of Goodfellow Drive, the victim of an apparent hit-and-run crash, Fort Wayne police have said.

He died Friday at Parkview Regional Medical Center, the coroner's office said in a statement.

Symonds died from blunt force trauma, but the manner of his death is pending, the statement said. It said the death remains under investigation by city police and the coroner's office.
