A Pennsylvania man died Sunday in a pickup-minivan crash in North Webster, Kosciusko County officials said today.

Jeremy Valentine, 39, of Wynnewood, Pa., died at the scene of the 3:21 p.m. accident, the county Fatal Alcohol Crash Team said in a statement.

Six others were hurt in the crash and taken to Fort Wayne hospitals, and a woman and a 5-year-old boy were listed in critical condition, the statement said.

Police said a pickup truck driven by Matthew Wagoner, 29, of Syracuse was northbound on Indiana 13 and crossed the center line, colliding with Valentine's southbound minivan.

The diesel fuel tank of Wagoner's vehicle ignited and was extinguished by several area fire departments, police said.

They said two children in the Wagoner truck, Matthew C. Wagoner, 5, and Tyson Wagoner, 2, were taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center. Police said Matthew C. Wagoner was in critical condition.

Three passengers in the Valentine minivan were taken to Lutheran Hospital, with Seana Valentine, 38, classified as very critical, police said. They said Molly Valentine, 9, and Luke Valentine, 7, also were taken to Lutheran.

The crash remains under investigation pending alcohol and drug testing of the drivers, police said.

The FACT team and North Webster police were assisted by Syracuse police, the North Webster/Tippecanoe Township Fire Department and EMS, the Leesburg Fire Department, the Syracuse/Turkey Creek Fire Department and EMS, Multi-Township EMS, the county sheriff's department and county emergency management.
