Teen dies after rescue from municipal pool

FRANKFORT, Ind. – Authorities said a 15-year-old boy pulled from a central Indiana city pool has died.

Frankfort Mayor Chris McBarnes said Adrian Alanis died an Indianapolis hospital on Tuesday, the day after he was rescued from the deep end of the public pool at TPA Park.

McBarnes told the Journal & Courier and WLFI-TV that city police were investigating the circumstances of the teenager’s death in the city about 25 miles southeast of Lafayette.

Police Chief Troy Bacon said Adrian was spotted at the bottom of the pool Monday afternoon. Bacon says pool workers performed CPR on him until medics arrived and took him to a hospital.
