Traffic violation leads to meth charges

A man stopped for a traffic violation on Friday night was found to be in possession of methamphetamines, and he pointed officers to local meth lab, according to a statement from the Fort Wayne Police Department.

Officers pulled over Kenneth Sorrell, 33, of Fort Wayne around 10:30 p.m. on Friday near the 700 block of Putnam Street. They arrested him on charges of possession of meth, dealing meth and possession of meth chemicals, the statement said.

Sorrell told officers that there was a meth lab at 2206 Brooklyn Avenue, and police found evidence of the lab and called the Meth Suppression Unit to assist with neutralizing it.

This is the 31st Meth Lab found in Fort Wayne in 2014.
