Theater screening school documentary

Northeast Indiana Friends of Public Education has partnered with Cinema Center to present the documentary “Rise Above the Mark,” at 2 p.m. Sunday. A discussion will follow the showing.

The film – narrated by Peter Coyote and produced by the West Lafayette Community Schools Corp. and Superintendent Rocky Killion – explores the “corporate takeover” of Indiana public schools, offering strategies to parents, community leaders and educators on how to protect local schools.

Cinema Center is at 437 E. Berry St. downtown. Tickets are $8, or $6.50 for seniors or students, with discounts for Cinema Center members.
