The Crossroads Classic, a men's basketball event held at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, has been extended through 2019, the athletic directors at Indiana, Butler, Purdue and Notre Dame announced Thursday.
The December nonconference showcase of the state's top college basketball programs began in 2011 and had been scheduled through 2016.
"The Classic has become a popular and prestigious annual doubleheader bringing together four great in-state institutions," Rick Fuson, chief operating officer of Pacers Sports & Entertainment, said in a release. "We are grateful for Bankers Life Fieldhouse to remain the host venue for this event, and we take pride in sharing a great tradition with Butler, Indiana, Notre Dame and Purdue."
On Dec. 16, 2017, Purdue will face Butler and Notre Dame takes on Indiana. On Dec. 15, 2018, Purdue draws Notre Dame and Butler plays Indiana. On Dec. 21, 2019, Purdue again gets Butler and Notre Dame goes against Indiana.
The initial two-year contract between the schools was followed by a two-year extension in May 2012 and another extension in July 2013.
