To celebrate the public launch of its Sustain Fort Wayne campaign, the U.S. Green Building Council Indiana Chapter Northeast is hosting its first RideGreen event, a bicycle pub tour with stops at local pubs and restaurants.
The event will begin downtown at the Wells Street Bridge at 2 p.m. Sept. 6. Participants will ride 6 miles as they stop at The Deck at Don Hall’s Gas House, the Dash-In, JK O’Donnell’s, Calhoun Street Soups Salads and Spirits, Mad Anthony Brewing Co., O’Sullivan’s Italian Pub and the Green Frog Inn.
Through the event, organizers say, the group hopes to highlight local businesses and demonstrate how active local engagement can help our community in a practical, environmentally conscious way.
Tickets cost $10 for USGBC members and $15 for nonmembers and include a T-shirt. Food and drink are not included.

Casa Restaurants have unveiled a menu of chef’s features, as well as drink specials.
Garlic knots are made with house-made dough, deep-fried and smothered in garlic butter, sprinkled with Parmesan cheese and parsley.
The Festiva Insalata features spinach tossed with pecans, mandarin oranges, red onion, tomato and flatbread strips. It is topped with sliced blackened chicken breast and served with a sweet bacon dressing.
The Chocolate Hazelnut Cheesecake has a chocolate graham cracker crust, chocolate cheesecake filling and chocolate whipped topping. It is garnished with hazelnuts.
Diners can wash the offerings down with one of the daily drink specials. For example, strawberry daiquiris cost $4 on Monday, and margaritas cost $4 on Wednesday.
• Das Schnitzelhaus, 1522 W. Main St., is hosting a special Sunday brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. The buffet-style meal will include chicken and tuna salads, fresh fruits, juices and German specialties. The cost is $19.99, which includes drink. Reservations are suggested; call 444-2946.
• Big Apple Bagels, 5129 Illinois Road, and Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt, 2870 E. Dupont Road, have closed. Both establishments were franchises, and the respective corporate offices did not provide a reason for the closures.
