A Kokomo man won $270,000 Saturday in the finals of Hoosier Millionnaire's 25th anniversary show at the Indiana State Fair in Indianapolis, the Hoosier Lottery said today.
Rick Rhodes of Kokomo, the winner of the road show in Fort Wayne, revealed a $250,000 prize in the final round and chose to keep it instead of risking it for the $1 million, the lottery said in a statement.
Dave Dieringer of New Haven won $19,000, LuAnn Kissinger of North Webster won $11,000 and Jack Binkley of Wolcottville won $5,000, the statement said.
It said because the $1 million prize was not won during the show, it will be awarded in a second-chance drawing. Players can submit non-winning Hoosier Millionnaire tickets at www.hoosierlottery.com by Sept. 20 to be eligible for the drawing, which will be held on or about Oct. 1.
