Some CHL news

The CHL's Denver Cutthroats have gone dormant for the upcoming season and are looking to secure investors for the 2015-16 season.

Like the Komets, the Cutthroats were a Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche.

As you probably know by now, there are all sorts of rumors out there about the CHL -- everything from more teams going dormant today, to the league folding, to a merger with the ECHL -- but as far as I know they're just rumors right now.

“We feel the Denver market remains a strong, viable area for minor league hockey, and has an ownership group that is passionate about making it work,” said Steve Ryan, CHL commissioner. “We are confident that with time, they will return to the ice and re-establish themselves in the community for the years ahead. The league would like to thank the Denver Cutthroats ownership, team management and their loyal fans for their support, dedication and enthusiasm.”

The Denver players are immediately free agents.
