Notre Dame released its 2014-15 basketball schedule Wednesday, with home games against Michigan State and ACC foes Duke and Syracuse highlighting the 31-game slate.
The Irish welcome the Spartans to Purcell Pavilion on Dec. 3 as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Duke visits South Bend on Jan. 28 with Syracuse visiting on Feb. 24.
"This is a great home schedule for our fans," said head coach Mike Brey, who enters his 15th year leading the Irish. "With 10 teams on our schedule this year that played in the NCAA tournament last season, we know that we are going to be tested."
The first of those tournament teams are Massachusetts and Providence, and Notre Dame must play each school in its own backyards - Uncasville, Connecticut, site of the Hall of Fame Tipoff Tournament.
Notre Dame is entering its second season in the ACC. In its first season Notre Dame tied for 11th, finishing 15-17 overall with a 6-12 league record.
"We'll have a better feel and sense of familiarity with the teams from the ACC this season," Brey said. "Certainly, last year was an adjustment for us and didn’t have the kind of results we had hoped for in our first year in the league."
The home conference schedule features Duke, Syracuse, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Miami, Wake Forest and Boston College.
The Irish travels to North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, North Carolina State, Pittsburgh, Duke, Boston College, Clemson and Louisville. The Cardinals, a former Big East rival, are entering their first season in the ACC.
Notre Dame plays Purdue in the Crossroads Classic on Dec. 20 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
