Police seek tips in string of thefts

Fort Wayne police are seeking the public's help in finding a man who they said has robbed three Walgreen pharmacies of prescription drugs since July 11.

The man is believed to be 6 feet, with medium to slender build, who rode a mountain bike to and from each store, police said.

He is white but was wearing dark costume makeup on his face, they said.

The robber produced a note asking for certain prescription drugs. Police said he was involved in these robberies at Walgreen stores:

• 11:40 p.m. July 11, 2410 Coliseum Blvd. N.

• 9:50 p.m. Aug. 11, 330 W. State Blvd.

• 1:40 a.m. Friday, 10412 Coldwater Road

Police said the man appeared at the Coliseum Boulevard North store about 12:20 a.m. Friday but left after store employees recognized him from the first robbery.

He then went to the Coldwater Road store and committed robbery there, police said.

Anyone with information about the robber or who may have been a witness to any of these robberies is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 436-7867.
