Verbatim: Friends of the Rivers event postponed
Friends of the Rivers and the Tri-State Watershed Alliance issued the following news release Thursday, June 1:
FORT WAYNE, Indiana - Due to high river levels, this event, previously scheduled for June 1, 2017, has been postponed. Friends of the Rivers and the Tri-State Watershed Alliance invite you to an evening of celebrating our area rivers on June 8, 2017, from 5pm to 9pm. Located on the historic Wells Street Bridge (near Fort Wayne Outfitter's Bike Depot & Bike Hub at 1004 Cass Street, Fort Wayne) over the St. Marys River, the event will feature a gourmet dinner prepared by Takaoka, an open house of an 1840s replica canal boat, a silent auction of river-themed activities and items, and live music by The Legendary Trainhoppers.
“This event is about supporting stewardship of our area rivers and the riparian environment in promoting water quality and economic development opportunities,” said Tim Hall, a Tri-State Watershed Alliance board member who helped envision and organize the occasion.
Tickets are $100 per person. A second VIP event, at $150 per person, has been scheduled, so some tickets remain available. Contact Taylor or Dawn at (260) 489-2524, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or RSVP via the Friends of the Rivers Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/events/608276816045337/. Complete details of the evening's events are at http://forfw.org/rendezvous/. Proceeds of the event will go toward funding the work of Friends of the Rivers and the Tri-State Watershed Alliance.
