Verbatim: ONB Foundation Grant Supports Easterseals Arc Employment Services

The following was released on Wed., July 12, 2017, by Easterseals Arc of Northeast Indiana: 

 

Fort Wayne, Ind.— Easterseals Arc of Northeast Indiana has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the Old National Bank Foundation to support employment services and job training opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Easterseals Arc’s employment services aim to enhance self-sufficiency and employability by providing foundational skills, education, support services, and community-based job training. Easterseals Arc will assess program participants in identifying employment barriers and provide skill development, job placement services, and support as needed.

Easterseals Arc has helped individuals gain employment with more than 50 area employers such as Sweetwater, Kroger, Scotty’s Brewhouse, Walgreens, Walmart, IHOP, Memorial Coliseum, Meijer and many others. The agency also has established partnerships with organizations such as Lutheran Hospital, St. Joe Hospital, Ivy Tech Community College, the YMCA, SIRVA, Macy’s, and Lutheran Life Villages to help individuals gain hands-on experience through volunteer programs or Easterseals Arc’s Employment Readiness Academy.
