Verbatim: Community Harvest Food Bank of NE IN Inc. Receives Huge Pet Food Donation from PetSmart

The following was released on Tues., Sept. 12, 2017 by Community Harvest Food Bank:
Last week, the Community Harvest Food Bank of NE IN Inc. received a huge pet food donation from PetSmart to help pets in need. The PetSmart donation included a 53-foot semi-truck loaded with nearly 190,000 pet food meals - nearly 40,000 pounds - of pet food.

The donation is from PetSmart's Buy a Bag, Give a Meal program, where for every bag of dog or cat food purchased online or in its 1,500-plus stores through Dec. 31, 2017, the retailer will donate a meal to pets in need at hundreds of animal welfare agencies across North America, as well as human food banks, pantries and meal programs, where pet food is a rare offering. Here is a picture of a woman and her dog in San Diego benefiting from the program.
