Charges pending against drivers in morning crash
The Journal Gazette
Both drivers are looking at charges in an early morning crash, the DeKalb County sheriff's department said.
Around 9 a.m. Wednesday, Sarah Eldridge, 31, of Butler, was driving south on County Road 61 when she entered the curve at the intersection of County Road 22 too fast, a statement from the sheriff's department said.
Eldridge's car went left of center, the statement said, hitting the driver's side of a car driven by Thomas Furniss, 60, of Hamilton, causing his car to leave the road and roll over on its roof.
Furniss was treated at a local hospital for a fractured nose and lacerations to his head, and was later released, the statement said. It said Eldridge had minor injuries and refused medical treatment.
Both drivers have pending charges, the statement said. It said Eldridge has a pending charge alleging driving while suspended and Furniss has a pending charge alleging operating while intoxicated.
