Verbatim: PepsiCo Recycling Rewards High School Students for Boosting Recycling in their Communities

The following was released on Wed., Sept. 20, 2017:

For the third year, PepsiCo Recycling and The Indiana Recycling Coalition (IRC) are teaming up to provide scholarships for high school students who demonstrate leadership within their schools and wish to drive change in their community through recycling programs. Student project highlights from last school year include:

* Maddie from Newburgh set out to collect 4,000 containers to build a plastic bottle sculpture for her school - she exceeded her goal by collecting 23,205 containers!

Applications for the 2017-2018 school year close on September 30. Students are encouraged to apply for the opportunity to increase recycling in their communities, gain leadership skills and work experience, along with a $1000 college scholarship.

As part of a one-year commitment, participating students will help facilitate the Recycle Rally program in their schools and implement public space recycling projects in their communities.

Indiana high school juniors and seniors can apply online and find out additional details about eligibility at www.IndianaRecycling.org.
