Verbatim: Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan Public Meeting Announcement
The following was released on Mon., Sept. 25, 2017, by Allen County office of Homeland Security:
Allen County, Indiana – Allen County, in cooperation with the Polis Center at Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), the City of Fort Wayne, the City of New Haven, the City of Woodburn, the Town of Leo-Cedarville, the Town of Monroeville, the Town of Grabill, the Town of Huntertown and the Town of Zanesville have prepared an update to the 2012 Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan (MHMP) to address the risk and vulnerability of communities in Allen County which may be affected by known natural, technological or human-caused hazards.
The draft Allen County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan will be presented and discussed at a public meeting on Monday, October 2, 2017. The meeting will begin at 9:00 AM in the 4th floor conference room 440 at Citizens Square, (200 E. Berry St in downtown Fort Wayne). Topics included in the discussion will include: an overview of the planning requirements; a summary of the risk assessment and vulnerability analysis; and proposed mitigation projects for prevention, property protection, natural resource protection, emergency services, and public information.
The planning committee is interested in receiving public input on the plan. Anyone who has questions or would like to provide input should attend the meeting or contact the Allen County Office of Homeland Security at (260) 449-4663.
