K's get defenseman from Tucson

JUSTIN A..COHN | The Journal Gazette

The Komets have gotten yet another player from the American Hockey League’s Tucson Roadrunners -- defenseman Jalen Smereck, who had nine goals and 45 points in 60 games last season for Flint of the Ontario Hockey League.

He signed a three-year contract with the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes and played two games with Tucson late last season.

The Komets play host to Cincinnati tonight.

To make room on the roster, Gabriel Desjardins was placed on injured reserve, joining Justin Hodgman.
