Wind-chill advisories again overnight

The Journal Gazette

The National Weather Service has issued wind-chill advisories for northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio through Wednesday morning.

For most of northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio, including Allen County, the advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. Wednesday, the weather service said.

For most areas south of Fort Wayne -- Adams, Huntington, Wabash and Wells counties in Indiana and Van Wert County, Ohio -- the advisory is in effect until 7 a.m. Wednesday. For Mercer County, Ohio, the advisory is in effect until noon Wednesday.

In all the areas, wind chills of 10 below zero to 20 below zero are expected, the weather service said.

The advisory means cold air and wind will combine to create low wind chills, and frostbite and hypothermia can occur if precautions are not taken. The weather service urges people to wear hats and gloves.
