The Journal Gazette

A knife-wielding robber struck Tuesday at a Warsaw convenience store, Warsaw police said.

Police said they were called to Freedom Express, 801 E. Center St., at 10:24 a.m. on a report that the store had been robbed.

The robber approached the clerk and displayed the knife, police said. They said the clerk emptied the cash from the register, and the robber forced the clerk into the cooler before fleeing.

The robber was described as wearing a black leather jacket with a white stripe on the sleeves, blue jeans and blue-and-white shoes, police said. He was white and his face was covered by a black-and-white Jack Daniels bandanna and sunglasses.

Officers searched the area but were unable to find the man, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call Warsaw police detectives at 574-372-9540.
