Verbatim: High water update

Allen County Highway Department issued the following news release today:

As of 9:30 a.m., the Allen County Highway Department reports the following roads affected by high water due to heavy rain:

Georgian Park (new)

Portola Avenue from Prize Street to S. River Rd.

Amber Road from Branning Road to Redding Road

S. River Road from Madge Avenue to Prize Street

Wilson Road from Hoffman Road to Maples Road

Brie Road from SR 205 to Wesley Chapel Road

Parrott Road from Hartzell Road to Maplecrest Road

Grissamer Road from Wesley Chapel to US 33

Griffin Road from Auburn Road to Hollopeter Road

Cook Road from Butt Road to Felger Road

Fogel Road from County Line Road to McComb Road

Motorists should continue to drive with caution and not attempt to drive through areas of high water.

In addition, the Highway Department's South Barn is offering citizens free sand and sandbags. The fill-them-yourself bags and sand will be available anytime until further notice inside the salt storage units at the south facility located at 8317 East Tillman Road. Sandbags are available on a first-come basis and you will need to bring your own shovel.
