A Fort Wayne man was sentenced to 180 months in prison after a federal judge found him guilty of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
Tyrone M. Wright, 41, was sentenced to 180 months of imprisonment and two years of supervised release, a statement from the U.S. Attorney's office said.
Wright was found to have a firearm in his possession on March 25, 2015, after having been previously convicted of felony offenses, the statement said.
In 2001 and again in 2007, it said, Wright was convicted in Allen County of serious drug offenses or violent felonies. Wright was also convicted of a similar charge in St. Joseph County in 1994.
The three felonies qualify Wright to be considered an Armed Career Criminal with a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison, the statement said.
