NAIA Div. II women: Indiana Tech 76, Bryan (Tenn.) 60

SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- DeAnn Kauffman scored 20 points and Keanna Gary recorded a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds as the Indiana Tech women’s basketball team opened the NAIA Division II Women’s National Championship tournament with a 76-60 win over Bryan (Tenn.) at the Tyson Events Center on Wednesday.

Rachel Bell finished with 16 points for the Warriors (30-4). Bella Lozano-Dobbs had 12 points and Kendall Knapke added 10.

Keneisha Love led Bryan (25-10) with 16 points and Tristan McClellan finished with 14.

Indiana Tech opened the game on an 11-0 run and led 18-2 in the first quarter. The Warriors stretched their lead to 44-24 at halftime. The Lions outscored Indiana Tech 20-12 in the third quarter to trim the lead to 56-44. Bryan cut the score to six points but never came any closer.

Indiana Tech plays the winner of the Jamestown-Cardinal Stritch game in the next round  Friday morning.
