Verbatim: Justin Busch announces Indiana Senate bid

The following news release was issued today:

Fort Wayne, IN – Allen County Councilman Justin Busch has announced his candidacy for State Senate in the upcoming caucus to replace Senator David Long in Senate District 16. Busch currently serves as an At-Large member of the Allen County Council and as the Council's Vice President.

“Senator Long will leave very big shoes to fill when he officially retires this fall. His leadership, dedication, and steadfast commitment to Northeast Indiana is something that I will work to emulate,” Busch said. “I look forward to listening to Hoosiers across the district and having a conversation with my fellow precinct committeemen about the reasons I'd be honored to serve them in the legislature.”

Busch, a veteran of the President George W. Bush administration and former aide to U.S. Senators Dan Coats and Dick Lugar, currently serves as the Northeast Indiana Director for U.S. Senator Todd Young. Busch also currently serves as a member of the Indiana State Real Estate Commission appointed by then Governor Mike Pence.

U.S. Senator Todd Young said, “I have known Justin since before I was elected to Congress in 2010. His experience, conviction, and relationships will allow him to serve the people of Senate District 16 well. From helping me on my first run for office to now representing me in Northeast Indiana, Justin has proven time and again his ability to get things done. His passion and enthusiasm for the people of Northeast Indiana will make him an excellent advocate for them in Indianapolis”

Busch is a pro-life advocate, a lifetime member of the NRA and a fiscal conservative. On the County Council, he works hard to keep our taxes low, pass proactive initiatives, and pass balanced budgets.

Busch stated, “I look forward to listening to my neighbors and fellow precinct committeemen who can learn more about my campaign by visiting”
