Verbatim: ARCH announces strategic plan, interim staffing

The following was released on Tues. April 24, 2018 from ARCH, Inc.:

Fort Wayne, IN: ARCH Inc., the Fort Wayne area’s historic preservation organization, has chosen an interim leadership team to work with its Board of Directors to bridge the anticipated several months of ongoing work between the recent resignation of its executive director and the completion of a new strategic plan, which will equip the group to hire a new leader ideally suited to lead for the next phase of its life.

Jill McDevitt left the post of executive director for personal reasons at the end of March and continues to serve ARCH part-time as a historic preservationist.

“ARCH doesn’t want to lose momentum or miss opportunities to serve property owners seeking information and support for their older buildings or to advocate for the community-building and economic development benefits of saving and finding the right new uses for old buildings,” said ARCH board president James E. Geyer, who owns Power Components Corporation in Fort Wayne. “We are pleased with how our
strategic planning process and our office transition both are going.”

“A city like Fort Wayne needs an organization like ARCH,” Zuber said, “now more than ever with so much development happening in and near our oldest neighborhoods. I’m delighted and proud to be able to help keep things moving forward while ARCH completes important planning for its future.”

ARCH’s new office hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
