The Journal Gazette

Indiana Michigan Power issued this news release today:

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Indiana Michigan Power will again be utilizing a helicopter for work on a transmission line in Noble County northwest of Huntertown on Wednesday and Thursday, May 16-17.

An aerial-service contractor will use a black helicopter with the tail number N50AP for work along newly constructed transmission towers in the area from Ege to Albion. The contractor will use ropes to pull new transmission lines into place. The work is part of I&M’s North Fort Wayne-Albion project, which involves upgrading about 20 miles of 138-kilovolt transmission line by replacing lattice towers with steel monopoles and new wire.

The helicopter is expected to be in use from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on both days. Weather delays could alter the flight schedule.
