Verbatim: Statements on Susan Bayh

The following was released on Tues., May 22, 2018 from the Bayh family spokesperson:

“Former Indiana First Lady Susan Bayh underwent surgery today to remove a brain tumor. Regrettably, this tumor was a malignant glioblastoma, the cancer that Ted Kennedy and Beau Biden fought and that John McCain is currently battling. After a period of recuperation from surgery, Mrs. Bayh will begin chemotherapy and radiation therapy. She will fight this disease with the same courage, grace, and optimism that have always characterized her. The Bayh family asks for your prayers for Susan as she fights this fight.”

The following was released on Tues., May 22, 2018 by the Indiana Democratic Party:

INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Democratic Party Chairman John Zody issued the following statement on Susan Bayh.

"We are keeping Susan, Evan, Beau and Nick in our thoughts and prayers as Mrs. Bayh undergoes treatment. The Bayhs are part of the Indiana Democratic family, and have shared their lives with Hoosiers. As they continue through this period, we will send them well wishes and positive thoughts – and we know Senator and Mrs. Bayh would like all of us to congratulate the boys on their college graduation this week.”
