The Indiana Department of Transportation issued the following news release today:
The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that Interstate 69 in Allen, Huntington and Wells counties is scheduled to be resurfaced on or after Monday, July 16, weather permitting. The resurface work will take place during overnight hours between mile marker 285 in Huntington County and mile marker 295 in Allen County.
Overnight, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., drivers are cautioned to watch for lane restrictions and possible stopped vehicles in the construction zone. INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through any active work zone. A speed limit of 60 mph will be in effect when workers are present and will be strictly enforced.
The contract was awarded to E&B Paving, Inc. for $6.5 million and also includes the installation of several miles of cable barrier along I-69, bridge painting and a pipe liner installation. Work on the asphalt resurface is expected to be completed by early November, weather permitting.
