Kelly Cup-winning goaltender Lukas Hafner and center Kevin Miller have signed with the Komets for the 2018-19 season, the club announced today.
Hafner, 26, who played at Western Michigan, was part of both of Colorado's ECHL Kelly Cup championships the last two seasons.
The Toledo, Ohio, native joined Colorado in February 2017. He played in five regular-season games before leading the Eagles to the league crown, with a 2.43 goals-against average and .903 save percentage while earning an ECHL-playoff-best 14 wins.
Last year Hafner helped the Eagles to their second ECHL championship, appearing in 20 regular-season games (13-4-1) and two playoff games.
Miller, 23, will be making his pro debut with the Komets.
The Stony Plain, Alberta, native completed four seasons at Ohio State last year, with career totals of 24 goals and 40 points in 114 games. Last season Miller scored eight goals and 12 points in 38 games while ranking 12th in the Big 10 with a plus-13 rating.
Miller was a four-time Ohio State scholar-athlete and a three-time Academic All Big Ten honoree.
The Komets preseason roster now has nine players-- four forwards, four defensemen and a goaltender.
