Crash kills Converse woman

A Converse, Indiana, woman died in a two-car crash in Grant County shortly after 8 a.m. today, Indiana State Police said.

Ivy R. Curtis, 43, was going east on County Road 100 North when state police at Peru said she failed to stop at the intersection of Indiana 13, pulling into the path of a Yokon going south, hitting the driver's side.

Curtis died at the scene, police said. Her two children, ages 5 and 11 were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Yukon, Tony L. Hedrick, 45, of Somerset, Indiana, was also taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
