VICTORIA JACOBSEN | The Journal Gazette
Three Saint Francis players were named Crossroads League Athletes of the Week for Sept. 3-9.
Goalkeeper Braden Conn was named Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after two consecutive shut outs of IU East and Georgetown last week. It was the first time the Cougars have shut out back-to-back opponents since 2014.
Saint Francis volleyball claimed both the Defender of the Week in Valorie Flick and Setter of the Week in Maria Pelak. Flick averaged 5.18 digs per set for the No. 19 Cougars, who are 14-2 and have won 11 straight. Pelak averaged 10.5 assists, 3.7 digs and half a block as the Cougars beat Indiana Wesleyan, Huntington and Grace.
