Overhead flashing lights will be removed at two Van Wert intersections within the next two weeks, the Ohio Department of Transportation said today.

New signage work begins today for the intersection at U.S. 127, U.S. 224 and Marsh Road north of Van Wert, and at U.S. 224 and Van Wert County Road 418 west of Van Wert, the transportation department said in a statement.

The lights will be replaced with flashing stop ahead signs along the road using LED light technology. ODOT is replacing overhead flashing lights with active signs throughout the state.
