Verbatim: ISP seeks info on Cass County deaths

Indiana State Police issued the following news release today:

Walton – Last night at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers from the Indiana State Police and the Cass County Sheriff’s Department responded to the report of two deceased adult males, in the roadway, on U.S. 35 north of Cass County Road 800 South.

The preliminary investigation by Indiana State Police Detective Brent Ingram, and Indiana State Police crash reconstructionists, revealed that Zachary Wines, 26, Walton, IN and Bryan Curry, 52, Valparaiso, IN, were found on U.S. 35, north of Cass County Road 800 South, deceased. Preliminary evidence indicates the men were struck by a northbound vehicle.

Investigators have yet to determine why Wines and Curry were in the roadway. Two vehicles, which investigators believed were driven by the deceased males, were found parked on the east side of U.S. 35, with engines running.

Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance with this case. Anyone with information is urged to call the Indiana State Police Peru Post at 1-765-473-6666.

This is an ongoing investigation. Autopsies will be conducted on Wines and Curry.
