Fort Wayne police have arrested a person of interest in a suspicious death at the Regency Inn on Coliseum Boulevard West.

Tyrin Royce Boone, 40, is charged with aggravated battery in connection with the death of Janaya Michelle Boone, 38, of Fort Wayne, according to a news release.

Janaya Boone was found dead at 12:23 p.m. Wednesday after police responded to a 911 call.

The coroner identified her on Thursday but did not rule on the cause or manner of her death. If Boone's death is deemed a homicide, it would be the 44th this year in Allen County.

Officers arrested Tyrin Boone Friday after a citizen recognized him at 8:47 p.m. and contacted police. The suspect was picked up at the intersection of Hanna Street and Tillman Road.

Janaya Boone was found lying face down next to a bed, according to Victoria Martin, who lives in a room almost directly under Room 208, where she said Boone lived.
