TinCaps lose at West Michigan

COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. – Will Savage had two hits and two RBI, and Gregory Soto pitched six scoreless innings as the West Michigan Whitecaps topped the TinCaps 4-2 on Monday.

Bryan Garcia allowed a run, but got Marcus Greene to ground out with a runner on first to end the game for his fourth save of the season.

Soto (1-0) picked up the win after he struck out eight and walked two while allowing three hits.

West Michigan scored first in the third inning when Savage and Danny Woodrow hit RBI doubles.

After the teams traded runs, the TinCaps cut into the deficit in the eighth inning when Jack Suwinski scored on a wild pitch.

The Whitecaps tacked on another run in the eighth when Anthony Pereira scored on a forceout.

Hansel Rodriguez (0-2) went six innings, giving up three runs and six hits. He also struck out four and walked two.
