West Michigan sweeps TinCaps

COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. – Cam Gibson tripled and singled twice, scoring three runs as the West Michigan Whitecaps beat the TinCaps 8-2 on Wednesday. With the victory, the Whitecaps swept the three-game series.

Jacob Robson singled twice with two runs for West Michigan.

Trailing 1-0, the Whitecaps tied it up in the fifth inning when Blaise Salter hit an RBI single, bringing home Gibson.

The Whitecaps (12-8) took the lead for good in the sixth when Danny Woodrow hit an RBI single, bringing home Anthony Pereira.

Starter Eudis Idrogo (1-1) got the win while Ben Sheckler (2-1) took the loss in relief.

For the TinCaps (7-13), Brad Zunica homered and singled.

With the win, West Michigan improved to 4-2 against Fort Wayne this season.
