Notebook: Parkview Field up for national honor

CHRIS GOFF | The Journal Gazette

The TinCaps' home stadium is up for another round of national recognition.

Parkview Field is currently in the “Elite 8” of Ballpark Digest’s Best of the Ballparks among Single-A facilities. Parkview Field won the online vote last year.

Stadium Journey has ranked Parkview Field as the No. 1 minor league ballpark experience in four of the last five years, including each of the last three seasons.

Tatis on ESPN again: For the third time in a stretch of seven games, the TinCaps' shortstop made a highlight catch shown on ESPN. With his leaping grab of a line drive by Lake County's Junior Soto on Thursday night, Tatis had the No. 8 play on the SportsCenter Top 10 on Friday morning. His previous two catches came in at No. 7 and No. 8, respectively, on the nightly television show.

Up next: Logan Allen (1.75 ERA) takes the ball Saturday night against a Lansing starter who has yet to be named.
