Game 64: TinCaps (23-40) vs. Lansing (34-26)
CHRIS GOFF | The Journal Gazette
The TinCaps are 4-2 on a seven-game homestand that ends tonight when they look to take three out of four in their four-game series with Lansing, an affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays.
Right-hander Adrian De Horta (1-0, 2.41 ERA) starts for Fort Wayne. Right-hander Andy Ravel (4-1, 7.61) goes for the Lugnuts.
Both losses on this homestand have come by a single run, and the TinCaps' offense is averaging 5.8 runs per game over the last five.
After tonight's game, the TinCaps go on the road for a three-game set starting Tuesday against Lake County. From there, Fort Wayne is back Friday to close the first half with a three-game showdown against Dayton at Parkview Field.
The paid attendance here has been the best it's ever been in the early portion of a season. By drawing 155,332, the TinCaps set a franchise record for the first 30 home games.
Fans on hand tonight can check their blood pressure and assess their risk of stroke, free services offered in the conference room accessible from the third-base concourse.
The "Strike Out Stroke" promotion is sponsored by the StrokeCareNow Network, a partnership between the Fort Wayne Neurological Center, Lutheran Health Network and Parkview Health.
Larry Creager, StrokeCareNow Network’s honorary stroke survivor, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
The Centers for Disease Control reports that stroke is the fifth-leading cause of death in America.
