Zunica homers twice as TinCaps win 5th straight

Brad Zunica showed Wednesday night why his pure power is something to behold.
In the first inning of the TinCaps' 7-2 win over South Bend, Zunica's swing didn't get all of the ball but sent it really high. Even going the opposite way, his pure strength was enough to lift the ball over the left-field fence for a two-run home run.
There he was again in the fourth, smashing another towering home run – this one a two-run blast over the center-field wall – and electrifying Parkview Field's crowd with his team-best 13th homer of the year.
Fort Wayne earned its season-best fifth consecutive win and can complete a four-game sweep of the Cubs (40-36, 1-6 second half) with a victory Thursday night.
The TinCaps (32-45, 6-1) went ahead 5-0 in the fifth on a run-scoring error, one of three errors South Bend made.
The Cubs came within 5-2 on Isaac Paredes' two-run homer off Adrian De Horta, who went 5 2/3 innings and gave up two runs on four hits with six strikeouts.
Hansel Rodriguez earned a save by pitching the final 3 1/3 innings.
Nate Easley's two-run triple in the sixth capped the scoring.
