Game 127: TinCaps (61-65) vs. Great Lakes (62-63)
CHRIS GOFF | The Journal Gazette
Hudson Potts has been one of the TinCaps' hottest hitters this month, batting .380 (27 for 71) and driving in 12 runs.
On Monday, Fort Wayne's third baseman was named the Midwest League Player of the Week, rewarded for batting .500 (14 for 28) with two home runs over the past seven days.
Lake Bachar, who threw seven perfect innings Thursday to help the TinCaps beat South Bend, was named the Midwest League Pitcher of the Week. Not only did Bachar not allow a baserunner in that game, he totaled seven strikeouts.
In other news, Sen. Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.) is scheduled to throw out the ceremonial first pitch tonight at Parkview Field as the TinCaps finish their four-game series against Great Lakes. The Loons have taken two out of three so far.
The TinCaps' magic number to clinch a playoff spot is down to seven. They have 14 games remaining. The next two weekends, there are big series against Lansing and West Michigan on the road. The other seven games include three with the last-place Captains in Lake County, starting Tuesday, plus three more at home with Great Lakes.
