TinCaps crush Lansing


The TinCaps pounded out 15 hits and rolled past the Lansing Lugnuts 11-3 on Friday at Cooley Law School Stadium in Lansing, Michigan. 

Fort Wayne (38-23 second half, 64-67) scored six runs in the second inning and added two in the third and three in the fifth. 

G.K. Young went 3 for 4 with three runs scored and Buddy Reed was 2 for 3 with three runs scored. Both hit home runs. 

Reinaldo Ilarraza, Jack Suwinski, Gabriel Arias and Chandler Seagle all had two hits for the TinCaps. 

Michel Baez (6-2) gave up seven hits and two runs in seven innings with five strikeouts. Jim McDade picked up his second save and had a strikeout.

With the six total strikeouts, Fort Wayne is five strikeouts short of a franchise record for team strikeouts (1,219).
