TinCaps lose second straight
The TinCaps dropped their second straight game to the Lansing Lugnuts 6-5 on Monday at Cooley Law School Stadium in Lansing, Michigan.
Fort Wayne (39-25 second half, 65-69) split the four-game series with Lansing (24-40, 61-69).
The Lugnuts scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 6-5 advantage after the TinCaps had scored three in the top of the fifth to take a 5-1 lead.
Jorge Oña and Gabriel Arias each had two hits.
Lake Bachar (3-1) suffered the loss for the TinCaps, while Dalton Rodriguez (1-1) got the win.
Marcus Greene Jr. was 0 for 4 in his first game back after rejoining the team coming back from being on the disabled list. Tyler Benson was sent to the short-season Tri-City Dust Devils to make room for Greene.
With the loss, Fort Wayne's magic number for clinching a Midwest League second-half playoff spot remains at three.
