DAYTON, Ohio – The Dayton Dragons ended their eight-game losing streak with a 4-3 win over the TinCaps on Sunday at Fifth Third Field.
The TinCaps, whose three-game winning streak also ended, got two RBI from Carlos Belen, who had two hits. Tirso Ornelas also had two hits for Fort Wayne.
Down 4-1, the TinCaps (10-14) rallied in the sixth inning, scoring couples of runs to get closer. Belen lined a single up the middle for his second RBI of the day to score shortstop Gabriel Arias. Fort Wayne third baseman Justin Lopez also collected an RBI on a groundout to shrink the margin to 4-3.
Fort Wayne led 1-0 early before Dayton scored a run in the second and three more in the third.
Fort Wayne's Aaron Leasher threw three perfect innings with three strikeouts.
The TinCaps return to Parkview Field, starting with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch Tuesday against Beloit.
