K's can't give Mallards life

JUSTIN A. COHN | The Journal Gazette

MOlINE, Illinois – I wrote going into Game 4 that the worst thing the Komets could do was give the Quad City Mallards a reason for hope.

Then, the Mallards scored in the first minute.

The same holds true tonight, as the Komets' series lead is 3-1 after the overtime loss Friday.

If I were a betting man, I would think we might see some lineup changes. The Mallards are looking tired and the Komets could bring in Brett Perlini and Taylor Crunk and try to amp up the physical play.

That's what I'd do anyway.

The Komets need to take care of the early minutes and set the tone; the longer the Mallards believe they can come back, the more chance that they do.
