Bob Chase Way dedication Monday

Memorial Coliseum will hold a ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Monday to dedicate the circle drive in front of the building as “Bob Chase Way,” in honor of the longtime WOWO broadcaster who died in November.

Chase, 90, was known throughout the nation for being the voice of the Komets for 63 consecutive seasons. The public is invited to attend the ceremony at in front of the Arena & Expo Center entrance to the Coliseum. Remarks will be made by members of Chase’s family, Coliseum officials and Komets president Michael Franke

The Komets open training camp later that day. The Coliseum’s Board of Trustees approved the plan to rename the roadway June 26.
