JUSTIN A. COHN | The Journal Gazette

The Komets will wear special Marvel Super Hero-themed jerseys April 7 at Memorial Coliseum against the Wheeling Nailers. It is part of a league-wide promotion that will include character appearances, co-branded ECHL/Marvel merchandise and other in-game events.

The games were announced today in Red Bank, New Jersey, at the Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash comic book store.

“Marvel is thrilled to work with the ECHL to provide all of their fans and ours with a one-of-a-kind in-game experience by bringing together the power of the Marvel brand with the energy and excitement of professional hockey,” said Jonathan Parkhideh, Marvel’s vice president, digital media & marketing solutions.

ECHL teams at various games throughout the season will don jerseys featuring characters such as Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor or, collectively, the Avengers.

The jerseys will be auctioned off at MeiGray.com.
