Komets vs. Wings, finally

JUSTIN A. COHN | The Journal Gazette

This is certainly one of those days in which you wonder what they were thinking when they did the ECHL schedule. The Komets are playing host to the Kalamazoo Wings – teams that are separated by only about 112 miles – and it’s only the second time this season they’ve played and the first at Memorial Coliseum.

Yet, the Komets have played Toledo six times and Quad City (that’s more than 5 hours away) five times.

The Komets have won 15 of their last 18 games and are riding a shutout streak of 126 minutes, 31 seconds of hockey heading into the 7:30 p.m. game.

In the only previous meeting of the season between the Komets and the Wings, Kalamazoo won 6-3 in Michigan on Nov. 5.
