Houser recalled to Tucson
JUSTIN A. COHN | The Journal Gazette
Goaltender Michael Houser has been recalled by the Tucson Roadrunners of the higher-level American Hockey League. With the Komets, he’s 25-10-2 with a 2.76 goals-against average, a .907 save percentage and two shutouts.
This is the third time this season Houser has been called to Tucson, the Triple-A team of the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes.
Houser was the ECHL’s Goaltender of the Month for December.
The Komets haven’t yet announced a replacement but, of course, have Garrett Bartus.
The Komets play at Kalamazoo, Michigan, on Friday before returning to Memorial Coliseum for games Saturday and Sunday against Cincinnati and Kalamazoo, respectively.
On Saturday, they will celebrate players from the nine championships they’ve won. On Sunday, doors will open extra early at 3:30 p.m. for fans wanting to see and take pictures with the Stanley Cup before the 5 p.m. inductions into the Komets’ Hall of Fame and the opening faceoff.
Going into the Hall of Fame will be former players Jim Burton and Ron Leef; Ruth Wiegmann, who housed more than 80 players as the unofficial team mom; and media members Dean Pantazi of WPTA-TV and Kent Hormann of Fort Wayne's NBC.
