Baptista available, K's interested

JUSTIN A. COHN | The Journal Gazette

There's a possibility that Mason Baptista, an integral player for the Komets the past three seasons, could return. Baptista was released by Freiburg, his team in Germany, after totaling one goal and 11 points in 25 games this season.

Komets general manager David Franke said tonight that he has reached out to Baptista about returning to the Komets. Baptista, however, also has offers from other teams in Europe.

Last season, Baptista, had 18 goals and 50 points in 62 games for the Komets.

And, no, Baptista, 28, would not qualify as a veteran in the ECHL.
